Is your son a hacker [satire]?
Dec 03, 2003
This is hilarious http://www.adequacy.org/public/stories/2001.12.2.42056.2147.html Some choice quotes for knowing whether your son is a hacker: _2. Are you finding programs on your computer that you don’t remember installing? _ Your son will probably try to install some hacker software. He may attempt to conceal the presence of the software in some way, but you can usually find any new programs by reading through the programs listed under “Install/Remove Programs” in your control panel.…more
Space Invaders
Nov 25, 2003
Gus wrote Space Invaders in C# (source). Sweet! Speaking of Space Invaders, there is a Space Invader urban invasion art project that lists “invaded” cities (cities with Space Invader graffiti). Seattle has yet to be invaded, but to the surprise of no one, New York has the pixel-challenged aliens.

Friendster not so friendly
Nov 25, 2003
Wired magazine points out how Friendster isn’t so friendly and how lots of people are migrating over to Emode or Tribe. I haven’t tried eMode, but Tribe is nice if nothing more then the geographic tie-in… I’d love to see Friendster get a web service where I can poll for my friends pictures, or an RSS feed for the message board… Maybe Enemyster will finally come out of private Beta
BlueJacking and Hacker Emblem

Sharing ASP.NET User Controls across Pages
Sep 22, 2003
We recently published a How-To on support.microsoft.com for how to share user controls across projects. In talking with customers, one of the things they would like to do is have a common set of reusable web UI, say a navigation bar, across multiple Visual Studio projects. The problem is that there hasn’t been an easy way to do this, and creating a server control seems like a lot of work for something so simple.…more
80's Renaissance Continues...
Jul 09, 2003
First it was Mr. T doing 1-800-COLLECT commercials, then Alf, now the Boston Globe is reporting that Garbage Pail Kids, the must-have collectors cards from the 80’s, are making a comeback. Quote from the article: “Topps plans to launch a Web site in August that will let youngsters create their own Garbage Pail Kids…". Interesting idea, and it should be fun to make yourself, friends, co-workers and other loved ones into Garbage Pail kids :)…more
