MGB Part 2
Jul 24, 2003
Another great part of MGB is that I got to catch up with my old co-workers from DC who are all doing well. Shout outs to everybody, especially since some read my blog! I also got to play Rise of Nations, a game that I thought was only beta, but has apparently been released. Ed, Keller and I played for about three hours and had a blast, except for the occasional lag.…more
You down with MGB? Yeah you know me Part 1
Jul 23, 2003
Please forgive me for not blogging more, but I’ve been horribly sick, really busy and travelling. I’m only now starting to catch up on e-mail and remove my DayQuil dependency. Keller is also sick, and he was nice enough to pick me up some (generic brand) DayQuil last week. I personally couldn’t tell the difference, but I personally recommend DayQuil if you ever are feeling horribly sick and can’t miss work.…more
Halo, H4x0rs, and the life of a Blogosphere story
Jun 11, 2003
Semi-random stream of consciousness… Halo EricGu turned me onto Red vs. Blue while we were at the speaker lounge at TechEd and I started having uncontrollable fits of laughter in what was a quiet room. They’re making 22 episodes, so make sure to donate to the cause. If you’re a Halo fan this is an absolute must see. It’s a movie filmed entirely inside of Halo with a well written and executed storyline.…more
Dallas hotels, thank you David Weller and Gaming sites
May 31, 2003
Thanks David. I checked into the Hyatt Regency last night only to realize, as David had, that the Hyatt Regency is very low tech with no high speed internet access, except for their business center which charges $10/hour and isn’t open 24 hours a day. I was planning on calling up all the local hotels to see if they had high-speed net access, when I came across David’s post. So I officially checked into the Adam’s Mark hotel today which is cheaper (even if you include the costs of net access), has more convenient access to the parking garage, late night room service, and best of all, the lobby has two stands chock full of cookies, brownies and lemonade as a welcome to all TechEd attendees, and by sheer coincidence, David was in the lobby so we chatted for a bit.…more
